Looking For an Unsecured or Small Loan?
Sometimes a client will contact me looking for a smaller loan and may not qualify for a mortgage at the time or getting a mortgage for the purpose of the funds is simply not feasible.
For whatever reason a mortgage is not an option, your next step is to look for an unsecured loan. Typically these types of loans will carry a higher rate if interest because there is additional risk to the lender. If you are able to pledge something for security such as a car, boat, equipment etc the rate will generally be a bit more favourable.
Of course when looking for a general loan, there are many company’s that offer smaller loans. A good place to start your search is simply your local bank. You may want to also search online for a loan but be cautious as to where you are applying. Ensure that they company is not doing a credit check upon submission of your information, because letting company’s do several credit checks can lower your credit score.
There is also another option available to you. It’s actually a pretty cool way to lend and borrow money, and is a fairly new concept in the lending world. It’s a website called Community Lend
Basically how it works is, if you are looking for a loan you can visit the website and submit your loan request details. Then your request will go into a pool where a large number of independent lenders can review your application, and submit a proposal to you to lend you the money. In some cases you can get a few different lenders offering you funds and are able to choose the best deal.
